Description
This design is known as Gol Farang (aka Goli Farngi, Gol-e Farang, Golfarangi & Cabbage Rose). "Gol" is Persian for flower and "Farang" is Persian for Franc (France). This roughly translates to "European Flowers". What makes it European is the use of perspective which is not common in most Persian rugs.
